Small business owners might find tax benefits thanks to new online tools offered by the CRA

Last week, the Canada Revenue Agency announced it will be launching a Small Business Information Webinar as part of a continuous effort to help Canadian entrepreneurs understand their tax responsibilities.

These webinars are aimed to complement existing small business information resources offered by the CRA, but it is hoped that they will make relevant business tax and credit more easily accessible to entrepreneurs.

The interactive, online service provides information about income tax and value-added tax responsibilities that impact small businesses. Additionally, it gives business owners a way to directly connect with the CRA agents and get clarity on tax questions.

Part of the motivation for this webinar is the recently expanded harmonized sales tax that affects Ontario and British Columbia business owners for the first time. There is a webinar suite aimed specifically at educating businesses about the implications of the HST.

Interested business owners can get more information about how to comply with tax obligations by visiting the CRA website.
