In one British Columbia city, small business owners will soon have a powerful new way to obtain necessary paperwork.

The city of Salmon Arm in B.C. has launched BizPal online permit and license services, which seeks to save time for small business owners, many of whom don't have an extra second to spare. The service is the product of a partnership between the federal, provincial, territorial, regional and local governments, and has long been a priority for lawmakers hoping to make the business process easier for citizens.

"Canada's small and medium-sized enterprises are a priority for our government," said Mr. Mayes. "We are demonstrating our commitment to them through Canada's Economic Action Plan, by improving access to financing and by cutting the red tape businesses face every day. BizPaL is a great example of our government's hard work to support SMEs across Canada as they innovate, create jobs and generate wealth in our communities."

There has been a lot of news for small business regarding technology in recent days. BizPlan Corner announced that it was introducing a new service that will provide SWOT analysis, which can evaluate what a company needs to improve.
