More than three-quarters of moms log on to Facebook at least twice a day
The stereotype that social media sites such as Facebook are the realm of teenagers and 20-somethings may not hold, as a recent study shows that Facebook can be one of the most effective marketing services for targeting moms.
The report, conducted by Lucid Marketing and analyst Lisa Finn, found that 64 percent of moms reported either liking ads on Facebook or feeling neutral about them.
Furthermore, most moms are active Facebook users - the study found that 68 percent of respondents log in to the website at least twice a day.
The study found that moms' receptiveness to advertising is contingent upon it being non-intrusive and offering them real value, such as through interactive promotions, coupons and discounts, and other engaging marketing services.
"Facebook is fertile ground for marketers to engage mothers and drive sales, but it needs to be
done on their terms," said Kevin Burke, president of Lucid Marketing. "They have no time for brands that don't 'get it,' but they do embrace brands that play by their rules."
Moms are not alone in their extensive use of Facebook - with more than 350 million active users to date, Facebook is rapidly becoming a game-changer for consumers and businesses alike.
