Staples Canada is lending needy families all over the country a helping hand with its latest charitable promotion.
The franchise recently announced that, as part of its School Supply Drive, it had raised more than $300,000 for needy families all over Canada. The drive, which began on August 9, seeks to equip less fortunate students with schooling needs as they head back to the classroom. Small businesses needing supplies will be able to join the worthy cause as the benefit sale moves ahead.
"The School Supply Drive is one of our most cherished campaigns, as we try to be the leading organization in helping tomorrow's future," says Staples Canada president Steve Matyas. "To give to a charitable organization is very rewarding, but to be able to give to the vast amount of charities serviced by the School Supply Drive is that much more special."
Customers who donate money will have an impact right in their own backyard. According to a statement by the company, the proceeds will go to families in surrounding areas.
Staples was in the news recently after the company announced it would be selling items including Staples six-pack pen-style highlighters for less than a single Canadian dollar.
