One online retailer will soon be named the 2010 Entrepreneur of the Year by eBay Canada.

The award is handed out to the most innovative and successful eBay retailer in the country, out of the thousands of sellers in the country. In addition to Entrepreneur of the Year, the site will also hand out awards for Innovator of the Year and Family Business of the Year. The innovation award will go to the small business owner who has come up with new and exciting ideas to attract clients to their products.

"We're out to discover examples of great Canadian entrepreneurial innovation and productivity," said Andrea Stairs, country manager for eBay Canada. "We know that using eBay to generate income can often be a family affair, so we want to find and recognize the very best examples of husbands and wives, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters putting eBay to work for them.

Shaun Shienfield, winner of last year's Entrepreneur of the Year award, is a used golf ball distributor who was able to use sales from the website to grow his business. eBay claims to have enabled the sale of more than 114 million different items since 2000 - the year the site was launched.

Companies all over Canada are taking advantage of eBay. Prime Choice Auto Parts recently announced the launch of its own store on the site. The factory - direct retailer plans to sell over 30,000 parts to customers using the website.
