In a recent announcement on behalf of Rob Moore, minister of state, Member of Parliament for Saint John Rodney Weston said that the Canadian government would be offering 33 more internships for students who are post-secondary graduates. Canada's Small Business Internship will be available to young professionals in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
"Canada's Economic Action Plan is helping small businesses grow and create jobs," said Mr. Weston. "This one-time investment in the SBIP will help even more Atlantic small businesses grow while creating jobs in the information and communications technologies and ecommerce sectors for recent post-secondary graduates."
The aim of the program, according to the government, is to aid small and medium-sized enterprises by giving them young minds to help with business procedures. The plan is part of a larger recovery goal known as Canada's Economic Action Plan, which aims to stabilize the economy by creating jobs and encouraging investment.
The Canadian government has been hard at work when it comes to trying to aid the small business community. In British Columbia, the B.C. Economic Innovation Partnership Program was introduced by the Honourable Stockwell Day. The program will invest $2,030,000 in businesses looking to trade with Asian countries.
